Ground up restoration on this early BSA twin carb Lightning!
This now rare machine was subject to an extensive restoration at Baxter Cycle in Marne, Iowa. The bike was completely dismantled and with each component rebuilt, refurbished or replaced as needed. Just look at the paint and the depth of the chrome! It’s in stunning condition. All in all, on offer here is a true British classic, usable and easy to own and ride, offered in a condition that makes it eligible for any concours event.
Engine had a complete rebuild with sludge tube cleaned, new bearings and bushing, throughout. Top end is all new with fresh pistons, rings, valves, guides, and springs. All new paint and powder coat on the chassis with rebuilt wheels, new tires, and new wheel bearings. Carburetors are new Amals (we choose to run Concentrics over the original Monoblocs). Sparks are provided electrically with a Wassell unit (goodbye, points and condensors!) and all charging has been upgraded to higher output, solid state parts.
A lovely Lightning!
